Trip to Dover

We loved our experience to Dover castle, The cliffs and Canterbury Cathedral! Our guide and driver were wonderful and delt with obstacles that came up. I would recommend this experience to anyone visiting London.

The small uncomfortable transport vehicle is the only reason the rating was not a 5

The travel coach was small and very uncomfortable, however our driver Brendan and guide Nick were outstanding. The driver was safe and swift and Nick was very knowledgeable and engaging. Had the transport vehicle been adequate for the number of travelers I would have rated the trip a 5. Anderson tours, work on that.

Seeing the beautiful...

Seeing the beautiful White Cliffs against the backdrop of the English Channel was truly stunning. Canterbury Cathedral was so exquisite in all the details of the stained glass windows and the woodwork of the Cathedral.

Pick a Small Group Tour

Great sites and very interesting. Informative guide and good driver.Downside was too many on the tour and too long spent waiting for passengers who did not get back for nominated departure times. Would recommend doing this day tour with a small group/number limits.

Too Many People.

Really good tour taking in a lot great history and views. This is now my third tour in UK and can only recommend - do small group tours. Far too many on this tour and we weren’t able to depart from any of the visited places on time due to selfishness / inconsideration of others.

Poor experience and customer service

It's ok if the bus is late but not ok if you're late with family members already on the bus telling the driver that will be there with a few minutes. Then those that were on weren't allowed to leave the bus and the stated the entire tour was rushed. To top it all off, the bus arrived back in London 25 minutes ahead of schedule. Will never recommend Anderson tours in the UK. Forgot about vivtar as well for booking any tours as their were no help in resolving the issue or issuing any compensation. We have a better time and spent less money touring London and it's sites ourselves.

Day Trip to dover castle and Canterbury

Dover castle and Canterbury Cathedral are both fascinating. Good amount of time to see them both. The time to view the white cliffs was a nice stop and chance for a light snack between the sites.

This tour is well worth the effort

We loved the tour, the highlight for us was the secret tunnels which was an unexpected bonus. The whole day was well organised and Dover and Canterbury were both incredible. So glad we made the effort.

A splendid day out of London

Our tour visited these three wonderful places each unique. I had enough time to see what I wanted and time to relax and get a bite to eat. As a military historian, I enjoyed Dover Castle and its centuries of history. I was very impressed by its signage, displays, food options and the helpful volunteers. The White Cliffs of Dover were worth the trip in itself - a beautiful walk along the scenic cliffs. Canterbury Cathedral was the highlight of the town but there is plenty more to see there. Yes, it was a bit of a bus ride, but that was comfortable and our guide was very helpful and knowledgeable

Great experience for my wife, 2 teenage boys and I!

The entire trip was great! Our tour guide, Sophie was “fantastic fantastic!” Honestly, she made the experience so memorable! We would definitely recommend this to everyone!

Great tour

Tour guide was knowledgeable and interesting. This tour was very well organized. Make sure your transportation to the initial meet site is secured. We took the tube and they were doing maintenance that day. Maybe cab or bus to the meeting site to be on the safe side. I highly recommend this tour.

Great trip!

Sophie was wonderful! Gave us tons of information and also was great at giving advice. Would highly recommend. Loved it all but especially Dover cliffs and castle. Our weather was perfect so that helps!

Don't go on Anderson Tours

Beautiful views from dover cliffs and Dover castle and Canterbury Cathedral were incredible. Helena gave a lot of useless information. Partial info was read off a script and sounded scripted She failed to wait for her group to get off the bus until it was pointed out when heading off to a site. The bus was at the wrong pickup spot and smelled like a toilet. Tray tables were unwashed. Nanu the bus driver was phenomenal! Definitely will not use Anderson tours again.

Great Saturday tour

We chose this tour as it had 3 stops Dover Castle which fascinating as they were doing enactments of World War 2. Then the White Cliffs of Dover and lastly Canterbury Cathedral. Our tour guide was very nice and the driver was great. Overall great tour!

Loved this tour

I enjoyed Dover Castle, especially the hospital tunnel. I was so happy to see the White Cliffs of Dover and Canterbury Cathedral was beautiful. The tour guide did a great job telling the history of each location and was very friendly. I 100% recommend the tour. I would suggest that it might be nice to get a quick bathroom break before going straight to the castle especially after the drive out.

Perfect

Even with rain it was the perfect excursion. I recommending bringing food and drinks with you. While there are cafes at locations, they take time away from exploring.

This was called as all group tour, there were over 40 people. The bus was small and cramped. The sight we seen were amazing and the guide was very knowledgable.

Dover Castle and tunnels

The Dover tunnels were amazing a must for all who love history the castle was small but brilliant medieval colourful on a sunny day would be a great day out you do need the whole day will go again

History come to life.

The Dover castle was much more interesting then we anticipated. Our tour guide Calum and driver Tony help make the experience even better.

Nice trip

Good trip overall. Not enough time at Dover castle to do the war tunnels and see anything else. Very busy. Castle is interesting also. Only complaint was USB ports not working on the bus. Guide was informative and fun

Better than described, but in a death bus!

The tour exceeded the description, with a great destinations, just enough time at each spot, and with an awesome guide who was in tune with the group. Unfortunately our transportation was literally a death bus. Anderson tours supplied a bus with capacity for one less than our group - fortunately there was a no show. The bus was unsafe - it had bald tires and was unstable at highway speed - veering all over and literally one time we all screamed because it felt like the bus was going to flip! Our guide arranged a different bus for the return home and said this was unacceptable. Kudos to the guide and Viator for rectifying the unsafe situation on the fly, shame on Anderson Tours for releasing such an unsafe vehicle!

both charming & grand

What a treat of a day. Admittedly, we were very lucky. It started out foggy, which was perfect for the castle, then cleared up later for the cliffs & the cathedral. Canterbury is lovely & vibrant. The cliffs & the cathedral are both breathtaking. Dover castle is immersive & sprawling. I had so much fun exploring all the details at each location, & I scarcely felt like I didn't have enough time. Eva was an incredibly personable guide & Desire was a dependable driver. Not sure if the trip would have quite been the same without either of them. They were fantastic.

Great bus tour

Nick our tour guide was excellent! Witty and knowledgeable about our excursion to Dover Castle, Cliffs of Dover and Canterbury. He and Bruce (our driver) took very good care of us during the trip. Trivia challenge for whole group to participate in… a lot of fun. Would highly recommend this tour.

Very enjoyable

It was a lovely trip. We've been lucky and had beutiful weather. Dover is truly medival castle, Canterbury is a pretty town with big and beautiful cathedral. Evething on trip is worth seeing. Organisation was fine and our quide Eva was nice and funny. We enjoy the whole trip so much

Rude impatient driver and tour guide.

It's ok if the bus is late to pick up and early to drop off but it's not ok if you're late by two minutes with someone there that vouchers that you'll be there. Drivers are rude and rush people they just so that they can get back to the drop off point early. Wouldn't recommend this tour or any other tour by Anderson tours UK. Additionally I don't recommend using Viator, they are happy to take your money but when there's an issue they claim they can't do anything to help you whether it's to get a refund or to contact the tour operator on your behalf. You're better off going to the attractions without using a subpar tour company such as vitar and Anderson tours UK.

Great day in the sunshine.

The Dover Castle and the White Cliffs were the highlight of the tour. Ava, our guide, was great. She was personable and walked the perfect balance between guiding us and turning us loose, and she offered up perfect weather.

Enjoyed everything about the day! Ava was a great guide and hostess and George an excellent bus driver. Our only complaint was with the drop off point - even though we had been picked up in Kensington we were dropped off by the London Bridge .

The castle and the cliffs of Dover. Tour guide was excellent. Made up for the partial closure of the Canterbury cathedral by a walking tour of the town and free samples . Acted like no big deal my getting lost and delaying everyone’s trip. At the castle; very gracious. Enough time for exploring without being rushed at the different sites Good bro on the way to the different sites

Our Tour Director Nick was Amazing! He made sure we got to see everything there was to see at Dover Castle, the White Cliffs, Canterbury Cathedral and then he took us around the town on a walking tour where he shared more history of the buildings and surroundings. Nick is very informative, friendly and fun. He shared so much history with us that we are still talking aobut it days later. We had an incredible time thanks to him with lots of fun pictures to share with our friends. Many Thanks to Nick and Viator.

Dover, Canterbury trip.

Tour was fantastic! Nick the guide was entertaining and knowledgeable! Driver/company needs to be more punctual. Was good 40 min late at pick up(bus stop) that i thought that they forgot about me. Had to call company etc. Not a good way to start the day. But stuff happens so no big deal. Would highly recommended.

Incredible Tour

Beautiful, beautiful sights and excellent information along the way. Dover Castle was interesting and a massive place to visit. Be sure to visit the wartime tunnels. The Dover Cliffs were a bucket list item for us. It did not disappoint Canterbury was fascinating town with all its hustle and bustle. The Cathderal is a must see. Thanks to Sophie and Grant for our tour. They were enjoyable and did a fantastic job.

Lovely day trip outside of the city

My partner and I took the guided group day tour to Dover and Canterbury on a rainy early May day. Despite the wet weather, our tour guide, Sophie, had the perfect level of enthusiasm, personal friendliness and knowledge to serve as the ideal guide. The tour itself was wonderful, and Sophie took care of the castle and cathedral tickets for us. She was very helpful and organized, while also permitting us ample time to explore on our own. There were a couple of moments where some travelers got a bit lost, but Sophie was calm under pressure and everything worked out smoothly without losing any time on our tour. I highly recommend this tour and want to express extra appreciation for our tour guide, Sophie.

Great day!

Colm was a lovely tour guide. The day was very busy, but moved along well. Dover Castle was fantastic. The Cliffs of Dover were beautiful. Canterbury Cathedral was spectacular. The City of Canterbury was quaint. Would love to go back and spend time!

Outstanding guide (Calum), interesting itinerary and great views!

Loved touring with our knowledgeable and entertaining guide, Calum.While at Dover Castle a British Spitfire graced us with an unexpected fly by. My now diseased Dad was an American Spitfire Fighter Pilot in World War II (52nd Fighter Group). They were trained by RAF and given Spitfires to fly for the duration.

Fantastic day at Dover and Canterbury

Calum was an excellent tour guide. He told funny stories and gave us lots of information on everything we saw. It was a great day. Dover was wonderful, as was Canterbury. The white cliffs were so beautiful. The tour was great and we had fun and learned a lot I’d suggest you bring some protein bars though as besides a snack bar at the White Cliffs of Dover, there’s not really any place to get lunch/healthy food until you get to Canterbury for the last stop of the day (around 3pm)

Our guide Callem was fantastic. He kept things lively with his random facts about the sites and other interests around London. He was funny and engaging and overall a great guide. The driver got us to all locations safely.

Please put in your information of the tour that it is not really recommanded for people who can hardly climb hills...

It was a well organised tour. The quide was well prepared and funny. We laughed a lot during the coach way - and got plenty of information. The Dover Caste is enormous! It would be better to write in your info that one should prepare for a tour. It is not only a visiting of a castle. You have to climb up the tower hill. And in the castle: up and down, up and down... :) Anyway as tiring it was as interesting. The Dover castle is amasing. We enjoyed it a lot. The White Cliffs are wonderful. It was good that we could walk up in our own way, as we could. The time was enough to look around and make photos. Canterbury Cathedral - what to say? It is a miracle. The best part of the tour was the walking in the city with our quide, who showed us the oldest houses.

Excellent Day Tour!

Absolutely great tour and completely worth the day trip from London! Considering the price includes admission to all the sites, I felt it was good value for money, especially considering the distance travelled is non-negligible. Our tour guide, Eva, was fantastic and ensured everyone was well taken care of. Her instructions were clear and she ensured that everyone was comfortable. Our driver, George, was also excellent! The tour is a bit compressed, but that's to be expected with tours of these types, as there is a lot of ground to cover. I managed to get into the Dunkirk tunnels, which severely limits your time at the rest of Dover Castle. I had to move quite fast through the rest of the castle in order to reach the top then come back down to see the Anglo-Saxon church and Roman lighthouse. The White Cliffs were great too, I would have loved to have kept walking but alas, the clock was ticking. Loved Canterbury Cathedral. There's a good chunk of time to explore the cathedral and surrounding area, so I tried to hit as many landmarks as I could before it was time to head back to London. Thank you again to Eva and George for a lovely day out and helping make my trip to the UK memorable!

Amazing memories

Eva is the Most Wonderful and engaging tour guide EVER!! We had such a great day at Dover Castle and Canterbury. highly recommend! And Jerome was an awesome driver-still don’t know how he’s able to navigate that bus so smoothly on those narrow English roads.

An Amazing Day

I have waited years to travel to England and see the iconic sites. This trip did not disappoint. Nick was an amazing tour guide. He made sure we saw as much as possible and gave us the interesting history of each place. Our driver, Selwin, kept us on schedule even when some passengers returned late to the bus. Be prepared to walk as there are no elevators in these amazing historic places. Dover castle has quite a lot of stairs. The white cliffs of Dover are amazing, but you should be prepared for a bit of mud on the path and wear appropriate shoes. Canterbury Cathedral is truly awe inspiring and the town was interesting. Nick showed us where to find the best fudge I have ever tasted. This tour was a wonderful use of our day!

Sophie was a great guide. She was Knowledgeable and friendly. The trip was varied and interesting. Would recommend both trip and Sophie.

Exploring

Guide was extremely friendly and explained history and what to expect while we traveled on the bus. At each stop, she offered to lead us to things we might was to do... such as underground tunnels at Castle and to the Cathedral in Canterbury. We had plenty of time at each stop. Excellent tour.
