Fabulous morning in Pune

Had an excellent morning with Ajit walking around and getting a download of the rich history of Central Pune. This was a great way to see old monuments, important temples and hidden gems. Ajit brought out layers of history in an easy to understand conversational format. We finished the tour with some amazing misal. Will highly recommend this for anyone wanting to get an understanding of Pune.

We enjoyed this tour so much. Ajit had such rich and fascinating history to share with my husband and me as we walked around and toured the temples, the old fort and other sights of Pune At the end, even though it wasn't part of the tour, he went into a saree store with me for a few minutes--I was a bit intimidated to do that on my own. It was so fun! I highly recommend this tour; Ajit is the best.

A Morning in Pune

Just had a great tour with Ajit - he was a wealth of information and lovely to have as a guide - would definitely recommend - I was interested to see the vegetable markets which he made space for and I topped the morning off with a local treat - a Mango Mastani - a perfect end to a lovely morning on a warm day.

Wonderful way to see Pune

More interesting sites today with Ajit! (I did the car tour yesterday.) Ajit’s history stories of Shaniwar Wada brought it to life and I found myself telling some of the stories to my husband at dinner. The two temples of Ganesha were beautiful. I skipped the tea because I was already hot but I wish I could have tried it. The option to be picked up at the hotel is wonderful and I would do more tours with Ajit and 5 Senses if they had more city tours. Highly recommend this tour.

Lovely, interesting tour of Pune

We had spent a few days in Pune visiting friends but hadn’t had a chance to explore the city and its history. This tour gave us just that- a fascinating insight in the rich culture of Pune, revealing so many hidden gems and stories we never would have seen, found or understood otherwise. Ajit was an amazing guide who fully made the tour our own, allowing us to stay longer at one place or even take a small detour to another spot we came across. His lively, upbeat nature made the tour great fun and he told us many stories and legends to make each spot more memorable. In the end, he helped us get a Rickshaw home - an all-around wonderful experience.

The tour we took with Ajit was absolutely phenomenal. He was very knowledgeable of the area, accomodating to all of our needs l, and also very funny. The tour was going to be great nk matter what but Ajit really made the experience a 11/10

Very tour enjoyable tour through the old town of Pune. My tour guide Ajit provided lots of interesting information without drifting off into giving a historical lecture. He took great care of me. Highly recommendable if you stay in Pune.

Perfect tour if you want to learn lots about India, history, religion, traditions with a certified, knowledgable and passionate about Pune local guide. Ajit was fantastic, we managed to see so much in such a short time (as we only had half a day on our business trip) - temples, fort, house, bazaar... Ajit knew answers about everything we asked - food, festivals, history, mythology, etc. Go in the morning when there is no tourists yet.

Excellent day in Pune

I was visiting Pune from Mumbai and took a morning walk with Ajit. It was a lovely day as we visited a magnificent medieval palace, 2 temples and a bazaar. It was a great way of discovering Pune. I wouldn't have been able to enjoy the city ae much, had I gone on my own. I would highly recommend this.

Walk down History lane

Ajit is a great storyteller and kept my teens and I thoroughly engaged. We enjoyed learning about History and the little anecdotes that it is replete with. Quite a memorable experience!

fascinating heritage walk

The heritage walk in pune was a great one. Ajit was a fantastic guide and he told us about the colourful past of the city when the Peshwas were ruling the kingdom. We saw magnificent palaces with intriguing stories, colourful temples and a quaint local bazaar. It was a memorable day indeed.

Remarkable heritage walk

The pune heritage walk was a remarkable experience. Our guide Ajit was simply fantastic. He was full of knowledge and humour. We really enjoyed how he brought a modern perspective to the ancient monuments. The unique temple if Lord Ganesh was mesmerizing and so was Shaniwarwada the Palace of Peshwas. We also had traditional chai (tea) along the way. We met and spoke to some locals and it was a memorable experience to learn about their way if life and how they manage this cusp of ancient and modern India. This was one of the best walks I have done anywhere in the world. Very highly recommended.

A walk through history

The communication was excellent on what our itinerary was and what time & where to meet us. We were met by Ajit who had an outstanding knowledge of the area and the history. He had some anecdotes about each of the place we visited. He was flexible & especially ensured my 11 year old son could understand what was being said and aimed the tour at him. It was educational and informative but most importantly a fun experience.

Pune heritage walk

The heritage walk in Pune was a cultural extravaganza. Out guide was amazing and took us to shaniwar Wada a magnificent palace. We also enjoyed the city museum with a remarkable collection of heritage artefacts. The famous temple built by a sweetmeat maker was the highlight. Our guide explained all the rituals and we met a few local people as well. It was a remarkable day which gave me a new perspective on India and Pune. Very highly recommended for a 3 hour cultural immersion.

Fantastic tour!

Everything is fantastic. Vikas is very knowledgeable and very friendly. Kelkar museum and Saniwarwada is an awesome place steeped in history and natural beauty. Samosa pattis in pune, was a very tasty dish that is i really liked most .Vikas was a supér nice person who accommodates to my needs really well and explain the history and custom of the place. He knows the best places to go. Thank you!

Awesome Pune City tour with delicious lunch & local treat

I booked the Pune City tour for my sister and I. It was a private tour for two and Narayanan from 5 Senses was very patient while answering my queries about the trip. Communications through the emails was very professionally written and managed. Nice touch - reminders & details were given the day before our trip. We were picked up in a car by our tour guide Nikhil and the driver. The car was comfortable and drinks & snacks were provided. The tour continued despite the rain. Pune had been raining non stop for the past few days. We were given umbrellas especially for the trip to Shaniwar Wada. It would have been nicer if the sun had came out. We were into spicy and savoury food and Nikhil took us to Blue Nile restaurant for an awesome lunch. The chicken kebab was awesome and I even had extras to go. It was soooo...so good. We shared the mutton and chicken briyani and ended it with its famous custard dessert. Would totally recommend this place if you are not afraid of spicy & savoury food. Aga Khan palace was beautiful and Nikhil arranged for a local guide to introduce its rich history to us. Through her, the story of Mahatms Gandhi's stay at the palace came alive. Good thing the sun peeked out and allowed us to explore the surrounding area without the umbrellas. It was a very enriching walk. The highlight of our tour was to try the local Indian tea which Nikhil arranged for us. Not once...but TWICE. Definitely a must if you've never tried 'chai' before. It was the most heartwarming tea we've ever tasted, especially with the gloomy weather we had the whole day. We took the tour unsure of what to expect as this was our first trip to India. But thanks to this 5 Senses experience, it will definitely not be the last. Thank you 5 Senses & Nikhil for the wonderful experience and introduction to the city of Pune.

Food, masala chai and informative experience!

Once of the best experience I had. Went to the Dagdu Sheth Halwai Temple and also the Halwai Sweet shop. Insanely sweet stuff. Bought a few to munch them down! Love it. Went to Kelkar Museum. Love it. I dig for this museum stuff. We also went to Shaniwar Wada. Oh man! I did watch the Bollywood movie Bajirao Mastani. And listening to the history, it's just mind-blowing. The only setback was that it was raining and we did not have enough opportunity to take a proper photo. I would have love to take perspective photos. And lastly, had a blast at one of the most iconic place, Aga Khan Palace!! The place of Mahatma Ganhdi himself! Our guide Nikhil has been very helpful and insightful. He bought us the best masala chai I have ever tasted and the food for lunch are simply awesome! Highly recommended!!

Insanely fun tour with top guide

Really well organised. Booked on impulse day before. Lots of emails and WhatsApp helpful instructions. Fantastic transport and really good guide. It was 1:1 and we went to interesting temple, great old ruined fort. Then wandered market finding bargains for my wife daughters and son. Also visited the political birthplace of freedom from Britain. Guide info was just at right level of detail. Then finished with delicious vegetarian meal and beautiful in season mango puree. Hugely recommend as I felt I got a real taste and smell of India. Unforgettable experience. Thanks Abhay.

it has lot of historic importance.

it was a nice experience to know about history of this place.the place is clean and not crowded on working day .you can relax and spend 5 hours there.

Getting to know the real Pune

I had no idea when I booked this tour that I would receive such an intimate introduction to the city. My tour guide went out of his way to add little touches so that I came away with a richer experience.
